Alethea Seignobosc is a Scottish artist based in the South East of France who's work explores obsession and the borders between chaos and control. She devotes hours and hours to finely depicting her chosen subjects. These range from the familiar to the abstract; every object or portrait has been conscientiously selected for both their personal meaning to the artist and a quality within that insists to be drawn.

The artist has dedicated her entire practice to the medium of drawing. She predominantly works in graphite, which signifies a love of tradition and it's perishability, enables manipulation to capture those tiny details frequently overlooked. An abstracted line, or splash of colour may be inserted; to play with perspective and provide an escape from the the unyielding control.

Process is a quintessential aspect of Alethea's practice. From stretching paper to whittling pencils and then the freeing yet laborious methods of depiction. All techniques offer a form of therapy to the artist and one of the greatest challenges is knowing when to stop.
